Stabby Place

Tonight when my Momma got home from work, she brought in the Pet Taxi from the garage.  It's the one used to take us to the stabby place.  Quest & I made ourselves scarce but Q2 loves a Pet Taxi and was immediately checking it out.  It's different than the one permanently kept in the spare bedroom and the one she's claimed as her own special quiet place.

Tomorrow Momma is going to try to catch Quest and take her to the vet.  She's been getting thinner and thinner and showing her age.  Quest that is, not Momma; Momma's just getting fatter and sassier.  Momma & Poppa are worried about Quest....especially since she's recently taken to hiding in the closet on top of Momma's shoes, just the way Shy did when she got sick before she went over the Rainbow Bridge.

Keep your fingers crossed that Momma can capture Quest.  Quest can be quick and disappear under the bed and up into the box springs in a flash.

Momma needs her Kevlar jacket for this too, or chain mail at the very least.

Happy 2nd birthday, Q2!  It doesn't seem that long ago that you showed up, a new face on our patio....a skinny and hungry young thing.

You hung around for awhile, checking us out and getting to know us.

It wasn't long before you made yourself at home.

Soon my beans captured you and took you to the vet to get you cleaned up, checked over and fixed, even if you didn't think you were broken.

You tried to fit in.

You tried to win me over.

Following me constantly.

Stalking me.

You're a big goof ball.

I can't imagine you living elsewhere.

Q2 was sleeping innocently in her bucket there in the upper right of the photo.

I hopped up onto the red blanket but kind of struggled as I've been doing lately. I don't know if arthritis is setting in.

Q2 was out of her bucket and in my face and Momma hollered, "Q2! What are you doing?"

Q2 then flung herself to the floor and did her best to appear innocent.

My sister is NEVER innocent.

Really??

I just heard that the wonderful and lazy holiday season is over and that it's back to work and regular schedules tomorrow....really?  REALLY?  Wait, I'm not ready!  I need my Beans to nap and hang out with!  Is this true?  What will I do?

First Anniversary

My Dear Sister,

It has been a year since you went over the rainbow bridge.  You are still missed very much.

Quest still wanders from room to room forlornly calling out for you.  Sometimes she seems insistent and grumpy, as if she thinks you're playing hide and seek and won't come out.  Other times she sounds heartbroken and confused.

My Poppa still reads the sad blog entry from a year ago.  He also reads the prayer request and the responses seem to comfort him as he gazes at that favorite photo of you posted on that request.  Do you hear him every night as he says good night to you?   

Your ash box still sits in a special spot on the desk near the computer.  Momma often polishes it and never lets dust accumulate on it.

Sometimes I even catch Q2 sitting quietly by and staring into the Shy memorial fountain.  She didn't know you very well since she had just come into our lives shortly before you went over the bridge.  She could tell you were special though.

I often sit and stare out the window and think about you.  You live on in our hearts.  I miss you, my sweet sister.

Happy Halloween!

My Halloween costume this year will be a pair of eyes.  A pair of eyes which will be peeking out from under the bed.  I do not like today.  I hope all the outside kitties are safe from ghouls.

It's my favorite time of the year!

I love the leaves on fire. I especially love when they fall to the ground and blow in eddies outside the window. They whip up into a frenzy in the wind and clatter against the window. It brings out the beast in me and I want to get out there and get 'em!

My other favorite time of the year is Christmas and I probably don't have to explain why.

Vacation?

Yesterday Momma and Poppa returned from a short vacation in Las Vegas.  They're car fanatics and went to attend the Barrett Jackson collector car auction at the Mandalay Bay.  I don't get why they went -- they didn't even come back with a car or anything!  Momma said they also went there to relax.   Relax?  It was NOT relaxing while they were gone.  I paced and paced, wondering just how long they'd be gone and if they were ever coming back. 

Why do they need to vacation without us?! I've been sitting on my Momma since she got home.  She is not going out of my sight again no siree!

Junk E-Mail

Why do I get so much junk e-mail.  Do you get a lot of junk e-mail? 

I get many offers to refinance my house.  I don't think my Momma & Poppa would like it if I did that since it's not really mine plus I don't have a thumb to help hold a pen to sign on the dotted line.

I get offers stating I've won lots of money if I were to just deposit a check and then send them back some money.  If I had any extra money, I'd be out at Petco buying crunchy goodness and a new kitty condo!

The one offer I find most puzzling is the offer for discount pills.  Especially that pill for some dysfunction which seems to make the people on the commercials want to sit in separate bathtubs and hold hands.  Why?  What on earth would anyone want to get in a bathtub???

Why do I get so much junk e-mail?  Don't these folks realize I'm just a small suburban tabby cat?

My folks went to Costco tonight and look!! Momma made a completely impulse purchase and buyed us this scratching thingy. I like it!! It had feather-things attached to it too but Momma removed them for fear Quest would eat one.
