Aggressive Lewis

My Momma wanted me to make a note in my bloggy so that we can keep track of this.  My Momma is worried about Lewis.  As y'all know, he's out there roaming the neighborhood on his own.  We think he has a home but we're not sure.  Anyway, sweet Lewis is always so loving and friendly.  The other day when Momma went outside to love him up he was mostly loving but ended up biting Momma.  He didn't break the skin.  Momma knows that sometimes us kitties get over-excited and do weird things like bite and scratch.

Tonight Lewis was on the patio and my Poppa went out there to say hi.  Lewis was really skittish and ended up taking a good chunk out of my Poppa's hand.  Momma went out after a little while to see Lewis but he flattened down his ears and started to hiss at her.

We've never seen Lewis so aggressive and mean.  We don't know if something is just upsetting him or if the sickly raccoon has spread rabies or something.

We're keeping an eye out.

Hopefully, something or someone is bothering him.

When raccoons in our part of Colorado were sick a few years back, they had canine distemper. Those that were rabid had the canine strain of the disease also. But, the wildlife people recommended that doggie and kitty people keep their animals indoors overnight. You'll know raccoons are sick when you see them in daylight hours.

We'll keep our paws crossed for Lewis.

Uh oh. I hope Lewis isn't sick. And I hope your daddy doesn't get sick!

Lewis probably just scared. All three of us came to our purrson from the woods around our house and we were scared too. Course not too scared to come inside and live the life of someone we don't know but apparently is called Riley.

Oh no! Hope everybody stays well and doesn't get sick.

Can people-vets do blood tests on people (like your Dad) who have gotten biten to make sure they don't have rabies?

I hope Lewis is OK ... I'm afraid maybe someone was mean to him and that's why he's acting out. He could be conflicted between accepting your kindness, and defending himself.
