Las Vegas Pictures

Ginger's whiskers

My Momma took pixtures while they were in Las Vegas and even though they say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, they let my Momma bring these home.

Come have a look at some pictures...

A Day Off

My Momma has a day off with me today.  We slept in all snuggly under the covers.  She got up and gave me treats.  I then took some pictures of my Momma.

This is my Momma...

Being Me

This is really my Momma...

Ok, this is really me

Birthday Boy

Dime Toss -- Rose Festival
Originally uploaded by human_beans.

Today is my oldest brother's birthday.  He is 21 years old.  Isn't that something like 147 in dog years?

Here is a picture my Momma took yesterday.  She took him to the Rose Festival fun center just like she did way back when he was 5.  They had a lot of fun going on rides.  My Momma hasn't been on rides in years.  She didn't even urp up a hairball.

Happy birthday Erik!

Mother's Day Flowers

Mother's Day Flowers

At least, that's what I thought until my Momma said that my oldest brother who is something like eleventy billion years old sent flowers to her.

I almost put the bite on the one leaf when my Momma put them out of reach.  She said that she is going to take them into her office so that we don't eat them.  Momma said that lillies are poisonous to us.  I guess it's a good thing I didn't get a good bite on it.

Happy Mother's Day, Momma.  *purrrrr*

An Anniversary of Sorts

Today marks three years since my Momma stopped smoking.  An unexpected benefit is that her lap is now bigger.  I have more room to stretch out during naps.

Thanks, Momma!

She'll Be Back On Friday

It's going to be a long week.

Big Ol' Jet Airliner

Ut oh.  Momma's suitcase is out of storage again.  I think she's traveling for the week.  I wonder if I can climb in and hide in one of the pockets.

Maybe she'll bring me a surprise from Salt Lake City.

The weather says that they will be getting wind gusts up around 60 mph.  I hope she doesn't get blown into the next state.  I have to go find some rocks for her pockets.

Happy Birfday

Happy eleventy-billionth birfday, Momma!

To celebrate maybe we should go to the store and buy you some stinky goodness!  I am such a helper girl.

Now, I must go find the perfect place to hack up my special present.

Love you!

Party!

It's my Poppa's eleventy-billionth birthday today so we had a party!

The New Year Begins

It was fun here last night  My Momma and Poppa had the music going real loud and they were singing like they enjoy doing sometimes.  There was lots of food and laughter too.  They even put extra treats out for me and my sisters!  By midnight they were feeling pretty good and me and Shy were busy chasing each other around the house.  Quest went to bed earlier, she said the music was giving her a headache.  Party pooper.  The music and laughter lasted well past midnight.

This morning all was quiet in the house.  Momma got up and she looked kind of cute all bed-heady while she fixed a huge breakfast of bacon, eggs and hash browns.  Lots of hot black coffee too.  Puffalump got her breakfast earlier than she expected considering the rowdiness of the night before.  Sometime around 10-ish Momma dragged Poppa from bed and to the breakfast table.   I think it was a miracle the two of them could stay awake long enough to eat breakfast.  I knew it was going to be a polar-fleecy-snuggly kind of day for me.

Me and my Momma just got up from a nap a little while ago.  Poppa is still snoozing.  Be vewy vewy quiet.

Happy 2007!

Blogiversary

Two years ago today, my Momma presented me with this weblog.  At the time I wondered what I would do with it.  In these two years I have met lots of other poodies and critters with blogs that have become such a part of my daily routine and that I've found I really care about.  So thank y'all for always being there and so entertaining.

Sympathy?

I was hanging out on the counter in the one area I am allowed to relax.  Suddenly I felt as if I were going to SPEW so I stood up and feeling woozy I leaned over Momma's pile of papers (GAH! No Ginger!) so I moved and leaned over the remote control (GINGER AIEEE!) so I shuffled off towards Poppa who happened to be sitting nearby and his shoulder was so handy (GIIIINGER!!) and I had to stop.  Could I help it if directly under my face was Momma's pen holder full of pens, scissors and whatnot?

Sheesh.  Whatever happened to sympathy?

They're Everywhere

I did mention that my Momma brings in the outside catfood at dusk, right? The only thing left on the patio is the water container.

Tonight I protected us from one raccoon. That same one fella kept coming back and roaming around the deck but I watched him through the window and he went away since there's nothing there to eat. Yeah, and I suppose my Momma glaring at the raccoon made him go away too.

A bit later Momma and Poppa looked outside and there were FIVE milling around the patio (apparently Gomer went for reinforcements). We've never seen five out there at once! We didn't even know they hung out in such groups...they all appeared to be the same size so it didn't look like a momma with babies. Weird that they keep coming back...nothing exciting out there for them except for a water container. There's lots of water nearby since we live about two blocks from a park with a stream.

There is a board missing from the back fence that they enter our yard through but back before the board fell out the darned raccoons would just walk along the top of the fence. Maybe my Momma's old Army training will come in handy and she could set up mortars around the perimeter. Yeah, that's it!

Make them stay away. They're spooky. All I can think of is the stories I've seen where they are rabid and kill cats in our town. I hope Puffalump and G2 stay hidden from them nasty ol' coonieracs. My Poppa scared them away for now.

I'll have to just keep watch. They're bigger than me tho'.

A Kinda Sorta Lazy Friday

My Momma stopped all those nasty comments right in their tracks.  I don't know why she didn't listen to me sooner -- the comments were coming in on a series of really old posts.  My Momma went in and shut off comments on those old posts.  Voila -- no more nasty icky comments.  Kind of boggles the mind that a spam bot would even bother with a kitty blog and leave 267 comments in 25 hours time.  Weirdos.

Today was a regularly scheduled day off for my Momma which meant joy and terror for me.  The joy was snuggling to sleep in with Momma and terror later as she decided to clean house and run that roaring cyclops that sucks dust.  Joy again later when Momma relaxed with me and a polar-fleece blankie all stretched out on the sofa.

My Momma surfed the web earlier to a place called safeway dot com and ordered food for us.  She just clicked on some items, shopping by aisle and neato but the food went right into a cart.  She buyed more food for Puffalump and them.  Did you know all them outside visitors go through a 6.6 lb bag a week?  The coonieracs would go through more if Momma let 'em.  I want to try this online shopping thing sometime when Momma isn't around just to see what I can have sent!

Momma makes it a point to keep clean water outside for Puffalump and friends.  The other day Momma lovingly cleaned out the water container and carefully refilled the reservoir.  Momma set it outside on the patio.  A bit later Momma looked outside and Puffalump was drinking from a mud puddle nearby.

Today Momma lovingly cleaned out the water container and put fresh water out.  A few minutes later a very happy bird was bathing in it.  Hmm...maybe it make the water better flavored for Puffalump...poultry flavored.

Whoops, there goes Momma into the kitchen.  I think she needs me to supervise her -- maybe she'll give me some stinky goodness.

Today was a good day...

My Momma stayed home because she didn't feel good. She sprawled on the sofa covered in the big fluffy polar-fleece blanket. Being the good girl I am I posted myself on her lap and kept her pinned there all day. What would she do without me to look after her?

Last night little Miss Puffalump did something she's never done. She camed to the door looking for food and my Momma. See, the food was brought in early because of those darned raccoons but nobody told Miss Puffalump's tummy so she came over to the door and hunched down waiting to get my attention. Finally my Momma noticed me pointing out the window and took some food out. Silly Puff trotted over to the bushes to hide from Momma and once it was all clear munched down on her dinner for a long long time.

Today am my sister's birthday. My bean sister. She lives in Colorado and I haven't seen her in about eleventy billion years. That's a long time. She's really old today -- can you say THIRTY-FIVE?! That's almost higher than I can count! Happy Birthday, Cyndee!!

p.s. Momma's going to turn commenting back on as a test.

G2 and Puffalump Share A Meal

Here is a rare and hard to capture picture of G2 (left) and Puffalump (right) sharing a meal.  It was taken through a window with Momma's Treo so the quality isn't the best.  Seeing the two together made my Momma's day.

Me, my Momma and Poppa plus my sisters want to wish y'all a very happy Thanksgiving tomorrow.  Share a meal with someone you care about.

G2

Olivia-aka-Puffalump has been hanging out fairly happily on our back patio. My Momma has a box with a polar-fleece blanket out there for some shelter. The patio is a partially covered so there is protection from the rain. There has been another cat that routinely hangs out with Puffalump. My Momma has named that kitty 'G2' because it looks a LOT like me so I guess G2 is short for Ginger2.

Every morning my Momma takes the food out and the two cats kind of trot off to hide in the bushes and as soon as Momma goes back in the house they take turns eating. They get along well.

This morning my Momma only saw Puffalump belly up to breakfast but no G2. Shortly after Puffalump finished a big old raccoon came along and Momma went out with her SuperSoaker and retrieved the bowl. Momma felt terrible that she had to leave for work and not leave food out for the kitties but the raccoon would've eaten it all up anyway.

When Momma got home from work she kissed me & gave me a quick scritch under the chin and then took food outside. Puffalump was happy to belly up to the bowl. But no G2.

A little while ago Momma saw G2 searching for the food bowl that had already been removed for the night. G2 was limping something terrible. Poor G2 has some sort of injury to the right front paw and it can't seem to bear weight. Momma feels helpless because she can't catch G2 to see what's up. All she can do is leave food for G2 to come munch. When G2 finished he limped off.

We wonder what happened to his leg and hope he'll be ok. Y'all keep G2 in your thoughts for quick healing, m'kay?

I Like Mine Al Dente

Yesterday my Momma went hunting and came home with this rug.  She wanted to hide where the carpet ends and the hardwood floor begins.  See, one of my sisters, and I'm not saying who but it ain't me, likes to shred where the carpet meets the floor.

So Momma went hunting and camed home with this rug to hide the ugly spots, as she calls it.  I would call it 'shredded' but that's just me.  Well in just a matter of hours one of my sisters, and I'm not saying who but it aint me, put a big snag in it.  They left a claw-sheath behind and I think if we had it DNA tested we would find the culprit.

When Momma discovered the snag she muttered and then covered it up with pepper.  I think with a little salt and a sprinkling of fresh basil it would be a real treat.

*peeks out from closet*

Look!  I have proof that my Momma is mean.  There are big growly trucks right outside making the earth shake.  Momma said that they're repaving the street and not really trying to raise the dead like I thought.

So I'm all askeert and hiding and instead of coming to comfort me?  My Momma VACUUMS!

She explained that since we girls were all askeert anyway, she was just getting it all over with instead of skeering us this afternoon after the trucks stop.

I still think my Momma should have come curled up with me in the back of the closet.

Lazy Sa'urday

Yesterday was a scary day.  My Momma & Poppa took the day off and normally that's a good thing.  But Momma started the day by vacuuming which scares me.  Then some strange man came and climbed into the hole in the floor.  My Momma said he was called the plumber and the hole was the crawlspace door.  There is a broken pipe under the house!  Then there was TWO strange men who camed and picked up junk.  Momma called them 'the junk men'.  Now there's lots of room in the garage a'cuz the old futon is gone and the old bed is gone.  Yay!  Wait, what do I care?  I never go in the garage.

Today is much better.  I'm relaxing with my Poppa in bed while my Momma runs around hunting.  She came home with a new waterer and food container thingy for the little visiting cat.  Visiting cat was lounging around on the patio this morning.  Normally he doesn't get quite so comfy and stretched out.  He was real happy with his new food dish and water container thing.  He went and rubbed his scent all over them.

We think new kitty needs a name.  We don't know if he's a boy or a girl.  He looks like Sweet William or cute little Buddah Pest so we are making him a boy.  From now on he shall be called Lewis.

Ice Water

The visiting kitty now has matching dishes to mine. Momma has put out water to go with that food. It's supposed to get right hot this week so she's moved the food and water over to some shade. She's even planning on giving visiting kitty ICE! I love ice in my water and visiting kitty will get some too.

He's the only kitty that me and my sisters have never minded coming around. We howl, hiss and run around crazy when anyone else comes around. For some reason tho', this boy is okay. But he can't come IN. We'd holler if he did that. I have my limits on sharin'.

I was a visiting kitty once. Long ago.

That Didn't Take Long

The second time my Momma saw the cute little black kitty eating out of the birdfeeder she marched right out there with a bowl of stinky goodness.  The little guy took one look at my Momma-bean and ran away akeert.  I hope he comes back and eats something.  I dunno why he was scared of my Momma.

Edit:  Here he is later chowing down.

Just What We Need, Another Web Site

Have you ever wondered what my Momma and Poppa are like? You can meet them here. It's been a long time since they've had their own place on the web. Long ago they had their own domain -- would that make them king and queen? -- but gave it up. Hey wait, if they're a king and queen, that would make me a princess!

Pizza...Yum-Oh!

My Momma said I have a Puma-Face.  She walked up to me with her cell phone camera saying, "Ginger, you look like a sweet little Puma-Face" and snapped my picture and walked off.  I'm not sure how I feel about being a Puma-Face.

I think she's sucking up a'cuz her and Daddy are going away on a trip this week.  I wonder if they'll bring me anything good from Chicago.  Isn't Chicago good for pan-pizza?  Stinky-goodness pan-pizza.  That's what I want Momma to bring home in her suitcase.

On A Friday Night She Entered

My Momma camed home!!!!  She came through the door and I couldn't believe it was her!  She dropped her suitcase and scooped me up and hugged and smoOOOooched me!  She put me down on the kitchen counter and we head-butted and I was just sooooo excited!  I have been sticking close as a shadow to her since then.  Here I am hanging with Bo (the bear) and Reggie (the dog).  We're bein' cool but keepin' an eye on Momma so that she doesn't get too far away.

It Must Be Cramped In There

I overheard my Daddy on the phone today. He was talking to my Momma. They were giggling and whispering. Then my Poppa put the phone up to my ear because he said my Momma wanted to speak to me. I couldn't hear her very well over my yowling. I had LOTS to tell her. I couldn't help myself. She said she was coming home tomorrow. I headbutted that little black earpiece. My poor Momma trapped in there. It must be very cramped. Someone please let her out tonight.

The New Monster Breathes Blue Fire

A few of the days last week were not good days for me and my sisters.  There was a man here with scary power tools making really really scary noises.  My Daddy was home too but HE was spending lots and lots of time vacuuming.  It was a symphony of noises.

A few times the stranger man went down into a hole he opened up in the floor.  I didn't even know you could make a hole in the floor. I wanted to peer into the black absyss but I was too askeert.  I think the man went into the hole to nap.  Or visit China.
Here is a before picture.  The man had ripped out the vinyl flooring that the people that lived here before us used as a backsplash.  The stove is electric and it's eleventy-billion years old.  Isn't that ancient?  Was there even electricity back then?!
Here is the after picture.  The man putted up stainless steel backsplash.  I wonder how many nose-prints I can put on it?  A new rangehood went in too.  Then he putted in a brand-me spanking new Jenn-Air gas stove with TWO ovens.  My Momma is so happy.
I been daring and have walked across here which causes Momma to holler, "Ginger Jean have you lost your mind??!".  Not when it's on tho'.  It spits blue fire!

Tagged On My Grampa's Birthday

My Momma went and bought me and my sisters a few goodies.  One of the things was a new fuzzy catnip mouse.  We just love those ones with almost real looking fur.  We split the last one open at the head and brown started showing through.  It grossed Momma out -- she said that the brains were coming out.  Umm, ew.  But the other really neato nifto keano thing that she buyed us was this new fancy schmancy drinking fountain!  I am so mesmerized by it!!  Shy is kinda afraid of it and Quest thinks it's neato keano too.

I've been tagged by my Tiny Dancer and I listen to almost everything my Sweet William tells me.

Here are the rules:
1. Go into your archives.
2. Find your 23rd post.
3. Post the fifth sentence (or closest to it).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag five other people to do the same thing.

FEAR me, all dust mites!

Sheesh.  Hmm, I wonder if they do.  But anyways, I dunno who to tag because I think lots of y'all did this already.  I'm slow yanno.

Oh!!  And today is my grampa's 80th birthday!!  That's OLD!

Lean Cuisine

At breakfast this morning my Momma was catching up on her magazines.  She was reading the October issue of Reader's Digest.  There was an article on how to help your cat lose weight....ideas on feeding them less and ways to exercise 'em.  K'uh!

A bit later my Daddy was reading an article in the Sunday Parade about how to help your pet slim down.  K'uh!!

You don't see us kitties sitting around discussing whether or not our humans are packing around an extra pound or two.

Nose Hits Off Her Hair

My Momma keeps telling me that I need to go update my blog but every time she does that it makes me forget what I was going to say!

Thank you all for your such nice nice words on my last entry about Wishy. You all are such comforting and good poodie friends. *head-butts*

I don't have much else to say. Oh wait, I do. My Momma went to get her hair done tonight and I love it when she gets home because her hair smells different than normal. She lets me jam my nose in her hair and inhaaaaaaaaale -- it smells so goo! And different! And interesting!

Jaws Of Steel

Harrumph. I think it's time for my Momma go to back to work. I was napping on Momma's lap when for some reason I decided to clamp my teeth on to her hand. Hard! She told me to let go but being the almighty hunter that I am with jaws of steel I didn't let up. She took her other hand and flicked my ear. Hard! Unfair! OW! It's bad enough that my poor ear hurt but I jumped off her lap and stood there completely dumbfounded. I didn't expect her to do that. She's never caused an owie on me before. The worst part was she laughed at my surprised expression. She laughed at me!

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

I am SOOOO excited that tomorrow is Christmas!  I took this picture of the birdfeeder I bought my Momma.  I thought it looked so much like Timothy Dickens or Psychokitty and boy does she love Timmy-Wimmy and Max so much that when I saw this I just knew what to get!

Now I just hafta hope Momma doesn't look in the backyard until tomorrow...

Merry Christmas to all my poodie friends!

No Kitty Boogerheads

My Momma hasn't been chasing me around with the camera.  I've enjoyed the respite.  I actually haven't seen the camera for awhile.

I did recover from eating all that turkey on Thanksgiving.  It sure was good!  I wish my Momma would make another one at Christmas but she won't.  I think she said they were having ham.  I like ham too.

Both my Mommy and Daddy have been sick with a cold that just will not go away.  I don't know what *I* would do if I had such a boogerhead since I can't blow my nose.  I guess it's a good thing we cats don't catch this stuff, huh?  I've been a huuuuge help though in their recovery -- I make a wonderful lap-warmer and lemme tell ya, there were times I had to hustle back and forth between the two of them so that nobody would think I was showing favoritism.

The suitcase thing is out on the bed and my Momma has been putting clothes in it.  She am going to Salt Lake City for work.  I want to climb in the suitcase and go with her so that I can keep an eye on her boogerhead!  But then I hear the temperature is something like 6°F.  BRRR!!

Curled Like A Shrimpie

My Momma and Daddy are home from Salt Lake City.  They went away for a few days and I was here alone at the mercy of my sisters.  I am so glad my folks are back.  Now I can rest.  See how tired I am?

One night while they were gone my Momma phoned home and called out to me on the answering machine to see if I'd come running on the webcam.  It just made me sad & miss her more.  I was happy when they camed home!

I'm making my Momma nervous. I'm guarding the kitchen and staring intently at the baseboard. My Momma is having flashbacks.

I can't help it Momma but I am starting to hear things again under the sink. Don't worry, if that monster has come back, I will protect you!
